The Samsung Galaxy Note is an interesting concept, being a unit which in many ways caters for the mobile phone enthusiasts and those who require a tablet. The unit utilises a dual core 1.4 GHz processor combined with the gingerbread version of the android operating system with a planned upgrade to version 4. The unit itself has dimensions of 146 mm x 83 mm wide whilst being 9 mm thick and weighing 178 grams in weight.

The unit comes with a 5.3 inch super AMOLED capacitive display screen which operates at a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels within which it displays 16 million colours. In terms of navigation the unit comes with touch sensitive controls as well as the touchwiz user interface, version 4.0 as well as gorilla glass for durability purposes. Accelerometer gyro and proximity sensors are provided as is a useful barometer and compass.

The unit comes with a Micro SD card slot which can be utilised to enhance the memory capacity of the unit up to 32 GB by utilise relevant cards, whilst also offering Internet access at speeds of up to 21 Mbps by virtue of its own 3G connection. In addition the unit comes with Wi Fi capability as well as the option of creating its own Wi Fi hotspot. The unit also features Micro USB and Bluetooth connectivity in addition to satellite navigation which benefits from A-GPS support.

The same camera can also be utilised to record video at 1080 pixels whilst a secondary front facing 2.0 megapixel camera is also provided. The unit also comes with a HTML 5 browser, a stereo FM radio with RDS, multimedia player, document editor amongst many other features.
