As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results, play by play and commentary for UFC 154: St. Pierre vs. Condit. Our live coverage will start with the prelim fights on Facebook (currently scheduled for 6:35 p.m. ET) and continuing through the FX undercard broadcast (8 p.m. ET) through the main card on pay-per-view (10:00 p.m. ET) so make sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.
This post will cover live results and thoughts for the undercard on Facebook and FX.
The undercard is almost certainly going to change slightly as the main card bout between Nick Ring and Costa Philippou was cancelled earlier today. The planned undercard "featured bout" between Patrick Cote and Alessio Sakara will likely get promoted to the main card.
On FX, Chad Griggs will make his light heavyweight debut against Cyrille Diabate. Mark Bocek is set to face Raael dos Anjos and Sam Stout will square off with John Makdessi.
There are currently four fights scheduled for Facebook (though one will likely be promoted to FX thanks to Ring/Philippou): Antonio Carvalho takes on Rodrigo Damm, Matt Riddle and John Maguire will face off, Azamat Gashimov will face Ivan Menjivar and Steven Siler will fight Darren Elkins.
Make sure to come back during the event and share your thoughts as the event goes down.
Update: Bocek vs. dos Anjos is the fight that got the call up to the main card, Carvalho vs. Damm gets promoted to FX.
Steven Siler vs. Darren Elkins - Round 1 - They spend the first bit of the fight on the feet. Elkins finally gets inside and clinches Siler against the cage. Elkins manages the takedown now and finds side control before Siler gets full guard back quickly. Siler with good elbows off the back. Big right from Elkins from on top. Elkins passing guard again. Siler works and gets half guard back but Elkins is looking for a choke. Siler defends but eats some good punches for his trouble. Siler gets to his feet but Elkins takes him back down and he's working the ground and pound. ELkins with a guillotine choke now and he's trying to squeeze for the finish. The round ends and a pretty clear 10-9 Elkins.
Round 2 -Elkins quickly with another takedown. Elkins with a neck crank now but Siler pops his head out. Siler with a big upkick and Elkins responds by landing some big hammerfists. They scramble and Elkins is on the back with a body triangle, looking for the choke. Elkins is just beating him up, has his nose bloodied and now Elkins tries for the choke again, but Siler survives. Siler is getting beat up this round. 10-9 Elkins, good case for 10-8 also.
Round 3 - Elkins lands a punch and now a hard jab. Good Elkins combination and another jab. Another right hand by Elkins and now Siler is getting beat on the feet. Takedown by Elkins. Siler cagewalks to his feet and eats a right hand as they separate. And another takedown. Siler manages to get to his feet with a minute left and Elkins takes him back down. Hard right hand by Elkins as they stand back up. Elkins shoots and Siler tries to lock up a choke but Elkins escapes easy and that's a 10-9.
Official scorecards: 30-27 across the board for Darren Elkins.
Azamat Gashimov vs. Ivan Menjivar - Round 1 - Gashimov with a leg kick. Gashimov really powers through a takedown to end up on top. Menjivar has looked to lock up an arm a few times ut nothing there so far. Now he goes for the armbar and Gashimov powers out. Upkick lands for Menjivar. A lot of positional battling and out of nowhere Menjivar explodes into an armbar and goes belly-down. Nothing for Gashimov to do but tap out. Great showing. Ivan Menjivar wins by submission (armbar), 2:44 of round 1.
Matt Riddle vs. John Maguire - Round 1 - Riddle lands a right hand as Maguire tried to get inside. Both guys landing some leg kicks. Maguire lands a right hand on the inside. Another right by Maguire but Riddle landed an elbow in the exchange. Left hand by Riddle. Maguire keeps trying to catch Riddle's leg when he throws kicks, but not having much luck there. Riddle pushes him into the cage. Nice left from Maguire. 10-9 Riddle.
Round 2 - Riddle ends up pushing Maguire into the cage. This is a pretty slow round. Left hand gets in for Maguire and he avoids a Riddle punch. Maguire again landing good shots. Riddle catches Maguire's leg and trips him to the mat. Riddle now choosing to go into Maguire's guard. Maguire lands again. Maguire in looking for a takedown but Riddle defends. Maguire almost catches a guillotine but nothing there. 10-9 Maguire. I don't have the slightest doubt that Maguire won that round as he landed the better shots, but Riddle did more as far as "being active" which is the nonsense reason the judges will score for him.
Round 3 - Good inside shot by Maguire early in the round. Again, Riddle throws inaccurate punches but Maguire lands the single punch he throws. Riddle probably doing enough this round. Maguire almost got a choke at the end of the round but Riddle won the rest of the round. I have it 29-28 Riddle.
Official scorecards: 30-27, 30-27, 29-28. Matt Riddle wins by unanimous decision.
Antonio Carvalho vs. Rodrigo Damm - Round 1 - Damm with a good right hand. They trade some leg kicks now with Carvalho getting the better of that exchange. Carvalho's leg kicks have turned Damm's leg bright red and he is clearly bothered by it. Carvalho still working the leg kicks. Carvalho won that round 10-9 on leg kicks and a few punches mixed in.
Round 2 - More leg kickery for a while before Damm gets it to the ground, they scramble and Damm tries to take the back. Instead, Carvalho manages to get back to standing. The fight really slowing down now. They trade leg kicks for the last part of the round, Damm lands a big punch. Carvalho with a nice combo and I have him winning this round.
Round 3 - Crowd is turning on this one and booing. Damm pawing with punches, Carvalho with some kicks to the legs but not much steam on them. Damm with a nice flurry of hard shots and some of them got in and now to the leg. Carvalho with a leg kick of his own. Now Damm lands another hard punch. This round is...not good. They trade a few punches. I guess Damm won that round but I have Carvalho taking it 29-28.
Official Scorecards: 29-28 Damm, 29-28 Carvalho, 29-28 Carvalho. Antonio Carvalho wins by split decision.
Sam Stout vs. John Makdessi - Round 1 - Stout is stalking early on. Stout really wings a few overhand rights that miss by a lot. Stout is trying to throw everything into shots and Makdessi looks like he wants to pick his shots and counter. Makdessi with a good jab and Stout with a leg kick. Stout gets a right hand in. Makdessi is using his jab very well. Stout thinks about the takedown but bails on it. Makdessi again works the jab. Very good technical attack from Makdessi. 10-9 Makdessi.
Round 2 - Makdessi is just flat out beating Stout on technique. Makdessi's jab and hook is the key to everything, it's coming off his head movement and lead hand. Stout with a head kick that lands. Right hand by Stout. This is a beautiful show by Makdessi, he has Stout completely befuddled. Stout is trying to make something happen. Stout landed a bit at the end of the round but 10-9 Makdessi and without debate.
Round 3 - Big hook kick by Makdessi, and a right hand return from Stout. Stout is trying to pick up the pace and Makdessi is looking to keep working off the jab. Makdessi ducks under a punch, lands a head kick and gets away. Stout still pressuring though. Makdessi stuff a takedown and lands a head kick. Stout now mixing in body kicks. They pick up the pace again as it heads to the end and Makdessi popping him with the left again. 10-9 Makdessi for me. I'd accept a Stout round here, but Makdessi won the fight clearly.
Official scorecards: 30-27, 30-27, 29-28. John Makdessi wins by unanimous decision.
Chad Griggs vs. Cyrille Diabate - Round 1 - Diabate drills him and now Griggs is down with Diabate on top in side control. Griggs shoves him off, stands up, but Diabate slams him right back down. Griggs standing up and he eats a knee and now an illegal knee by Diabate. Diabate has it down again, has the back and sinks the choke. Cyrille Diabate wins by submission (rear naked choke), round 1.
